WHAT'S HAPPENING..
Find out what we've been getting up to, and what we're planning on doing at State of Rum
TASTE OF LONDON
HAMPTON COURT PALACE FAYRE
RUNWAY EAST
Taste of London had it's ups and down with the weather, however it was an incredible opportunity to get to the masses, and allow rum lovers and festival go-ers the chance to sample our rum. The feedback received was promising, with plenty of new fans that were then able to purchase online. We also made some great connects, so keep watching for more opportunities that followed.
Hampton Court Palace Artisan Fayre was the very first event State of Rum was apart of. Being our first event I can't say I was sure on what to expect. It was an unexpected pleasure to have met some great people from other businesses; everyone is happy to share their experiences and I was able to sample their products. The Banana Cake Rum sold out at the event, but the Chai was popular with the women and scotch lovers, this was down to the strong fragrant flavour profile.
State of Rum had it's first corporate gig and it was certainly a hit! There were 3 cocktails on the menu; banana cake daiquiri; dirty chai martini and an apple mojito. It was safe to say the daiquiri was a favourite amongst the crowd at Runway East. The after work mixers went on a bit longer than usual, as the event certainly left everyone buzzing and networking for hours - hopefully they all made work the next day!

London, UK, 17th April – At the 7th London Spirits Competition, held in London on 20 & 21 March 2024, State of Rum won a Bronze medal, considered the ultimate seal of approval in the global spirits industry. To achieve this distinction, State of Rum needed high scores in three categories: Quality, Value, and Packaging. In contrast to other spirits competitions that often prioritise distilling ability and technical expertise over drinkability, the London Spirits Competition aims to recognise and celebrate the spirits that consumers actually want to buy, whether from a retail store or off a menu at a London restaurant. What sets the London Spirits Competition apart is its judging process. It goes beyond blind tasting to determine medal winners. First, judges evaluate the spirits’ label, design, and packaging, assigning a portion of the score based on visual appeal, storytelling effectiveness, and how well the brand's overall presentation aligns with its price point and perceived value for money.
Couple of months into the business going live, we received an order of 200 bottles of Chai Rum as part of a corporate gifting order. This was the biggest order received to date, so working the logistics was the challenge. The delivery was a success, all 200 bottles were packaged and delivered, this included a customised label made especially for the business.
After establishing the process for the consumer market; State of Rum ventured out into the world of bars, restaurants and pub. Go check us out in the below places. Spirits of Stamford have created a beautiful range of cocktails, and we've been told the banana cake one is a best seller!
